What is an dental implant?

Answer: A dental implant is a metal device designed to replace missing teeth. The device is usually made out of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone where the tooth is missing. A custom made crown, bridge or denture is then fixed over the implant depending on the circumstances and amount of teeth that are missing.

If you are interested in implant options please discuss these with your dentist and if it is a viable option they will refer you for a consultation.

The consultation is an opportunity to collect information in order to give you a estimate and treatment plan. It will include a thorough intra and extra oral examination and relevant photographs and radiographs. Impressions for study models may be taken if required. You will be provided with a written treatment plan.
